Not Quite in Detroit Yet…

Hi.

Yesterday was a busy day – woke up at 5, left Santa Barbara at 6, arrived in Detroit at 4:30, got to the hotel at 5:45, went to the dinner at 6 p.m.

Malcolm Gladwell gave a pretty cool speech on rejecting authority – how the baseball players back in the seventies went from playing for peanuts to earning 25K per strikeout.

His point was how lucky we are that we have this opportunity – that we are gathering here at Ford to discuss consumer issues – and how that concept is completely new, something people in the past were working towards.

We ate surf and turf – salmon and steak – along with some nice appetizers: asparagus wrapped with roast beef, fresh tuna, and lots of brie.

I have to shower and go to the conference now.

I had a really nice time at the hotel bar last night – the bartender definitely knows how to work that olive juice.
