We just got back to the Gaslamp District and music is already blaring.
There is a bar on a rooftop just across the street, and people are sunbathing and consuming cocktails and making a hell of a lot of noise.
I’m telling you – this area of the city is pretty crazy. The St. James (our hotel) even makes it clear that a noise complaint will not get you anything for free – they warn you right up front.
After a late bedtime last night and an unbelievably filling brunch at The Hash House (full write-up coming later), we decided to get out of downtown for the day and wander over to Pacific Beach.
We didn’t go all the way into PB though – we hung out at Sail Bay and then took a walk around the corner to Mission Bay and then Fiesta Bay – stunning views of natural beauty combined with some of the most active waters I’ve seen in some time: sailing, boating, wake boarding, waverunners, fishing, etc.
I was impressed – very cool setup with the riviera in the background and the protected waters to play on.
Below are some photos – we are showering up now and getting ready to go out to a nice dinner – place to be determined.
