I went for a long bike ride through Goleta today – and it made me (mentally) sick to see the length of the drive-thru line at In-N-Out Burger.

I heard a lot of chatter about In-N-Out when I moved to California – but when I tried it, it did not impress (the burgers were all right, the fries a joke).
Biking by the burger joint, there were probably about – no joke – 20 vehicles waiting in line.
And I remember last time I was there it was mobbed, too – not a free table in the place.
I’m so confused, by both America’s obsession with fast food and California’s pride for a mediocre burger joint.
ANYWAY:
I am just about done my writing for the day, and now it’s time to pack up for my flight to Philadelphia. The heat will be turned up, for sure: forecasts in the 90s. Yikes.
My flight is at 6 a.m. tomorrow, which is nice – I’ll get into Philly at a reasonable hour, even with the time change (4 or 5 p.m. I believe).
Cheers – have a nice night – hope you follow along as I wander some East Coast cities.

In-N-Out has the most delicious chocolate milkshake.
Did you know In-N-Out also has a secret menu?
I did! See my original story on In N Out: http://blogs.gonomad.com/wake-and-wander/travel/california/why-all-the-fuss-over-in-n-out/
