It should be a beautiful weekend in Santa Barbara County – we’re headed up to Lake Cachuma to catch one last weekend of summer weather. The forecast is predicting mid-seventies with 10-20mph winds during the day and the low 50s at night – perfect for a day sail and a warm campfire under the stars.
Although I’ve been under the weather all week, it feels like I’m finally coming out of it. I was congested when I woke up, but I feel much better now. I’m going to bed early again tonight, and that should be that.
I won’t have time for a big breakfast tomorrow morning – we’re leaving early – but here are a few things I found interesting to chat about over your coffee:
- I’ve never really had a problem with excessive noise in a hotel room, so perhaps I’m not being sensitive enough, but this whole article made me laugh. I couldn’t imagine what I would do if a hotel staff member knocked on my door, woke me up, and told me I was snoring too loud.
- I’m a big fan of the margarita, but leave it to Jimmy Buffet to go breaking records. His hotel on the strip in Las Vegas recently opened, and now he’s going to try to outdo a local Mexican restaurant that apparently broke the record for the world’s largest margarita last October – 7,500 gallons using more than 6,000 bottles of tequila and triple sec (it served 80,000 12-ounce servings!).
- Ben Abramson of USA TODAY wrote that he thinks Europeans are better drivers than Americans. I’ve driven close to 150,000 miles since I got my license nine years ago – can anyone with a non-driving job beat that…about 16,500 per/year?
Enjoy the fall weekend!

haha! so basically, one person’s snore-filled sleep must be sacrificed for the other guests.
exactly!

I visited a lot of website but I conceive this one holds something extra in it. “When you’re a lawyer, you expect your client to lie to you, but not when he is the president.” by Dick Houser.
