Zodo's For A Few – That Arrogant Bastard!

I went ahead and poured myself a Hair of the Dog this morning, more so because of a general craving rather than out of necessity.

But I will admit I went to Zodo’s last night.

All right, yeah, it’s a bowling alley – but they have awfully nice drink specials during two happy hours (4 p.m. – 7 p.m. and 10 p.m. – 12 a.m.).  You can get a 23-ounce beer for $4.50.

Now they have 40 beers on tap, but of course they limit the special to their own craft beers (yes, the bowling alley makes their own beer.  I’ve had one of them before and I don’t remember anything about it) and a select few others – luckily for me Kona Longboard is included on that list.

I have sort of always wanted to join a bowling league, and that is just the kind of special that would make it a fun season.

However I did have a conflict last night with a beer called Arrogant Bastard. A few people at the table were drinking it so I obliged.  It is so hoppy and has such a dominating taste, I immediately wanted another beer simply to wash the thirsty, dry taste out of my mouth (that said, I could see how someone who loves hops would dig it).

The Irish man sitting next to me didn’t like it either – but we both got through it and he told me all about Guinness and how it is routinely poured incorrectly in America.

Then he started calling me Liam, and I asked him about traveling in Ireland and we had a few good laughs.
