I was a little tough on William Hearst yesterday.

He deserves every bit of it as far as I’m concerned, but I can’t let my frustrations with the past interfere with what I’m trying to accomplish right now in the present.

And that is to provide truth and genuine candor to the reader – and to be sure that I’m not hiding who I am when I’m writing – keeping in mind that it is our individual differences that make each of our perspectives unique.

Still no word from the Best of the Road Rally on whether Team Wake and Wander will be cruising USA this summer.  I am not sure if that means we were not selected, or it if means that they’re running behind after a long holiday weekend (we were supposed to be notified on or around May 31).

I can’t speak for Jimmy, but I’d honestly only like to know (one way or the other) so I can unpause my life and start planning June and July.

My updated (and very unofficial) calendar if we aren’t chosen to be a part of the Rally:

June 5th: Surfing competition/BBQ in San Luis Obispo, Wine Waves and Beyond

June 13th: Yosemite (50/50 at this point, awaiting details)

June 17th: Camping/Sailing at Lake Cachuma

June 25th: Los Angeles (again, awaiting details)

July 15th: San Diego, Beer Festival

July 21 – Aug 2: New Jersey/Philadelphia/New York/Atlantic City/Washington D.C.

Aug 6: Skydiving, Round Two (date subject to change)
