Today was one of those mornings where I simply had no interest in getting out of bed.
On Saturday, the night after I hung out at Race Street Cafe, we celebrated my sister’s engagement.
Long story short: the first guest arrived a little after 1 p.m., and I finally rested my head on the pillow at 5:30 a.m. Sunday morning.
It almost wasn’t enough time, though – so many people that I haven’t seen in months or years, so much to catch up on. It is one of the most rewarding processes when you step back and take it all in (although in the moment it can be quite taxing).
I am glad that some of our friends decided to stop back over Sunday morning for a mimosa. Of course, a morning mimosa turned into another and then a cold beer and then the leftovers started to come out, and before I knew it the sun had set and it was one in the morning and none of us could stop laughing.
I wanted to write yesterday – really bad actually. The more I talk to people about what I do and explain to them my purposes, the more I only want to keep going and keep showing them what I’m talking about.
That’s what tonight and tomorrow morning are going to be used for – catch up on a million different stories that are floating through my little head. Then it’s back on the road. Tomorrow, I will visit some beach towns in South Jersey. I haven’t been since I moved West – and I’m interested to see how they compare to California’s beautiful coastline.
Here’s a glimpse of yesterday’s paradise:
