Let’s start with the bad news: My trip to Brooklyn has been canceled.
Ouch, that stings considering it was so close, but no worries – I’ll have plenty of chances to make it to New York City for, at the very least, a weekend within the next couple of months.
I have some good ideas to fill the vacancy that this creates in my schedule, however I want to wait for them to be confirmed before discussing.
Now the good news:
My trip to the Finger Lakes is all set for the end of January. On Friday (the 27th), I’ll be attending Wine on Ice – a wine festival in a hockey arena. I had a great time this fall sampling the wines at Keuka Lake, and I look forward to checking out some other wineries from the region. The next morning I’ll take a scenic flight over the area – an opportunity to get some perspective and see the Finger Lakes from the air. The Rosewood Inn will be my home base for the weekend.

I am confirmed to wander around St. Maarten/St. Martin (the Dutch and French side, respectively) for two weeks (February 12th – 26th). It’s about 200 miles east of Puerto Rico, and I’ll be honest: As much as I’m learning to embrace winter, I’m excited to dip out on the cold for a few weeks.
I have received and accepted an invitation to visit the King and Prince Beach and Gold Resort on St. Simons in mid-April (off the coast of Georgia, south of Eagle Island where I went in November). While currently unconfirmed, I believe I will swing up north to Savannah after and check out some bed and breakfast spots. Details to come.
