Back to the Tropics: St. Maarten Set for Sunday

On Sunday, I head back to the Caribbean for a two-week stay in St. Maarten.

I had a lot of fun exploring the winter spirit of Quebec City, however you will never hear me complain about 80-degree days and 70-degree evenings. I’ll make my home on the Dutch side of the island at the Royal Islander Club.

The itinerary is still coming together, but it seems that I’ll get to wander the entire island over the course of the long stay – beaches, restaurants, hiking, hotels, and water activities. I really want to rent a scooter to zip around the island, and I think I’m going to take the ferry over to St. Barts and Anguilla for a day. Why not? They’re right there.

I’ll be traveling with family and friends in an open-house type setting, people coming and going throughout the adventure. That scenario makes for high energy and good happy hours, I’m excited.

Stay tuned for more details, and check out this photo of the beach perpendicular to the runway of Princess Juliana International Airport. Apparently you can have some fun when planes take off and land, such as hanging onto a fence as the exhaust blows you parallel to the ground.

I foresee a video or two in my future.
