Indoor Skydiving Perfect Practice for Larger Leap of Faith

We’ll get back to Sweden coverage soon — and I also have one hell of a rant brewing inside me regarding tipping in America — but for now I have a really cool winter activity to suggest, perhaps as a prequel to a larger leap of faith when the weather breaks: Indoor skydiving.

Indoor skydiving
Yours truly indoor skydiving in Ogden, Utah.

I had originally thought indoor skydiving to be the king of all oxymorons, but as it turns out, I came closer to crushing my skull skydiving indoors than I did when I actually jumped out a plane.

You will see in the video how there’s this crazy aspect of invincibility involved with indoor skydiving. If you get good enough, you can defy all the laws of gravity inside the wind tunnel and fly around like Superman. The guides put on quite a show, going from the floor to the ceiling on command (it’s where they practice for synchronized skydiving). Hell, even a ten year old had no problem with her heels over her head. Shortly after, I almost introduced my face to the floor.

Check out the video below, and see my stories on Farewell Travels and Travel and Escape for the full scoop.

If the occasion presents itself, I’d definitely give it a fair look. You want to come along?
