I know, I know. You think of Cabo as a collegiate spring-break destination featuring dollar beers and watered-down margaritas. Sure, that’s a part of it, but anyone who’s been to Cabo and come up for air knows that it’s a beautiful environment with tons of outdoor adventure to be had. Here are four (of many) suggestions for when you find you’ve had enough tequila:
Cliff Jump at Canyon of the Fox
Two locals tipped me off to this spot just outside the town of Santiago, about an hour’s drive from San Lucas. It is ideal to visit during the fall right after the rainy season, but worth a trip any time—even if the water’s not flowing, you still get to experience Santiago and hike down into the canyon. I timed it perfectly and was able to cliff jump into the deep pools, and there were plenty of rocks to hang out on if you packed a picnic. From where you park, it’s an easy 15-minute downhill walk to the oasis.
